A toast to ex-estate agent – master of events

Congratulations to John Oakley, former estate agent turned toastmaster.

The former chairman of his local NAEA branch in Kent and still very loyal to the industry, John has been inducted as President of the Association of the UK School of Professional Toastmasters.

John has worked at a number of prestigious locations including the Savoy, Waldorf and Hilton in Park Lane.

He is adept at looking after weddings, corporate events, award ceremonies, civic functions and formal dinners – in fact, anywhere that needs a master of ceremonies (as well as someone to shut up the extremely boring and long-winded speaker who had got into a microphone conversation with a well-refreshed diner, as EAT observed at one estate agency event).

John says he is honoured to have been elected President and fully intends to maintain the dignity of the ‘traditional English toastmaster whilst embracing the modern ways of working’.

A nicer man you'll struggle to meet. Congratulations John.
