Property industry veteran Mal McCallion is among two new high-profile recruits for GetAgent.
McCallion, who helped launch Primelocation in 2000 and was Zoopla’s original sales director between 2008 and 2011, has joined the agency comparison website as chief operating officer.
He is also joining with John De Pree, who has become GetAgent’s first chief marketing officer.
De Pree brings more than two decades of industry experience to the table from marketing roles with notable brands including Tesco Bank, Betfair, Paddy Power and most recently from Gett Taxi.
He is tasked with growing vendor referrals while McCallion’s focus will be on developing relationships with agents.
McCallion said: “When I started out in the industry two decades ago, quality of service was a differentiator that the consumer would judge a handful of local agents on, usually via word of mouth.
“Today, tech has helped property in many ways, opening up the market on a huge scale and providing a far greater level of choice.
“But it's made it much more difficult for vendors to tell agents apart and that's what GetAgent is here to address, providing clarity based on performance. “
“GetAgent is dedicated to ensuring that great agents grow by providing them with quality vendor leads, for free - and only charging in the same way as agents themselves do, on completion.
“It's a win for everyone involved in the transaction and I'm delighted to be joining them as they continue to drive innovation in the lead gen space."
De Pree added: “Giving vendors confidence to select the best agents for selling their property and increasing the number of good quality leads for our agents are key focuses.
“I am thrilled to embark on the next chapter in GetAgent’s journey."
Colby Short, co-founder of GetAgent, said it is important that the brand attracts strong talent and expertise.
Short said: “John’s knowledge of Marketing for some of the UK's biggest companies and Mal bringing his experience of growth in the property sector and skills of empowering agents, we are confident they will be key in making GetAgent an invaluable tool.”

“clarity based on performance" shouldn't be the goal. Clarity based on culture and character is far more relevant when choosing any agency.
