Who are you and what does it say on your business card?
Emily Hawthorne, mio Account Manager for the South West of England
What is ‘company name’ and what does it do?
I work for the TM Group which has been established for 20 years and is the largest supplier of searches to the conveyancing sector. mio is a new product from TM which is specifically for estate agents.
What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents?
mio joins up the dots in a property chain, removing delays and duplication across the home moving process by providing agents with a single view of the chain and a connected approach to sales progression. The net result is more productivity, faster transactions, better communication with happier customers.
What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?
Until mio was launched earlier this year, there hasn’t been a product in the market which brings agents and conveyancers together throughout the house buying process. We often read about the “broken process” of moving home;
mio sets a new standard for a joined up approach to managing property chains through to completion. By incorporating data feeds, it reduces manual intervention and removes duplication, providing agents with a single view of the chain along with better tools to communicate with their customers.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?
Onboarding my first independent agents alongside the roll out of mio to our shareholder branches throughout the South West was very rewarding because we could all see the benefits of using mio.
What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Personally, I love seeing the penny drop when an estate agent sees the way a shared chain view with other agents can help them and cut down on the work they are currently doing.
What do you see as the biggest challenge facing estate and letting agents at the moment?
Themselves quite often – there’s great technology in the market to help various parts of their business but they need to make the time to understand how.
What is your property prediction for the remainder of 2019?
The property market seems quite resilient despite the Brexit uncertainty. The agents that invest in their people and processes will future proof their business, those that don’t will get left behind.
Country house or city apartment?
Country House – there needs to be room for my two football mad boys!
Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?
Drinks on a trendy roof terrace – yes please!
Would you rather be a free-moving tenant or settled owner occupier?
Settled owner occupier. The dream is to have a kitchen big enough to have an island where everyone in the family can gather.
What is your favourite room in your home?
It would have to be my bedroom. It’s my zone, away from the children where I can relax (when they let me!).
Homes under the Hammer or Location, Location, Location?
Location Location ocation – who doesn’t love Kirsty and Phil?!
