Cluttons claims homes for sale on the River Thames or with Thames views can command premiums of up to 67 per cent while prime rental properties with Thames-side outlooks can achieve up to 73 per cent premiums.
Cluttons says South Bank riverside properties achieve the greatest premium of up to £2,000 per square foot compared to those without views of £1,200 psf. This is followed by Tower Bridge achieving £1,500 psf (£1,000 psf without river views), Battersea £1,200 psf (£900 without river views), Putney £1,100 psf (compared to £800) and Wapping £1,000 psf (£750).
Cluttons research also shows prime renters are as keen as owner occupiers to live waterside.
Prime Wapping riverfront rental accommodation achieves a 73 per cent premium at £950 per week compared to its counterparts, which achieve £550 per week. South Bank prime riverfront rents attract £1,500 per week, achieving a 67 per cent premium, as does Tower Bridge with rents of £1,000 per week.
In the west, prime riverfront rents in Putney achieve a 52 per cent premium at £875 per week while Battersea premiums reach 50% at £900 per week.
