With one eye on this month's Halloween celebrations and another eye on getting publicity, online estate agency House Network has launched a service providing vendors with paranormal investigations.
To offer its ghost-free certification service the agency has teamed up with the an operation called The Ghostfinder Paranormal Society, who will carry out checks for supernatural activity on request.
House Network cites an 18-month-old survey by Move With Us and "various" but unnamed other pieces of research to suggest that properties thoought to be haunted sell for well below market value.
The agency says the paranormal investigations take several hours depending on the size of the house and involve setting up camera and static-recording kit.
Mark Readings, House Network's chief executive - possibly with a white sheet over his head - says the service offers "peace of mind and transparency" but warns that if something unnatural is found during the probe the agency would have a duty of disclosure to inform prospective buyers.

I'm not entirely sure whether this is a joke or not.....
I really hope so, Richard!
