Elton John Aids Foundation: Leading property auctioneer Paul Dixon, who runs regular sales at the very elegant Connaught in Mayfair for Lansdowne Auctions, is often asked to conduct high profile events for international charities. Sir Elton John's EJAF charity recently secured him for their annual 'Grey Goose Revival At The Roof Top' held at Sir Richard Branson's Kensington venue.

"It was the first time I have ever conducted an auction with a stripper on stage and a male one at that", Paul said. "I have worked for EJAF before and these things are not for the feint hearted. The 'Revival' certainly lived up to it's reputation. Apart from all of that, we managed to sell 100 per cent of the lots, so it was a really good result for Sir Elton's Foundation. That's what it's all about".

Harrison Murray Shoe Box Appeal: Harrison Murray Estate Agency's Market Harborough office are boxing clever with a Christmas appeal to help vulnerable and young people across Leicestershire.

For the Nottingham Building Society (of which Harrison Murray is part) 'Doing Good Together' community initiative, the branch has pledged its support to the Shoe Box Appeal. This challenges estate agency colleagues throughout the company to fill a shoe box of essential goods to donate to local charities of their choice in time for Christmas.

The charities include homelessness charities, food banks, children's charities or care homes.

The team at Market Harborough has chosen to support The Children's Society, which runs local projects helping children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable and feel they have nowhere left to turn.

But, not content with donating a few shoe boxes, estate agency manager Kameron Hutchinson and the team are hoping to fill a whole shopping trolley of shoe boxes containing goodies for youngsters. “We always rise to a challenge at the Market Harborough branch, and with Christmas just around the corner the shoe box appeal is the perfect way for us and our wonderful customers to help a child locally and bring a smile to their face” says Kameron.

Customers or members of the public are invited to call into the town centre branch with shoe box items.

Mission Christmas: Wirral-based Karl Tatler Estate Agents & Lettings are getting involved in this year’s appeal for toys.

The annual Christmas present appeal is asking for new and unwrapped gifts suitable for babies, children and young people aged 0-18 years, which can be donated at any of Karl Tatler’s seven branches across Wirral.

Managing director Karl Tatler, says: “We’re really proud to support Mission Christmas. Not only does the appeal help towards making a disadvantaged child’s Christmas morning special, but it also shines a light on the dreadful reality that one in three children in our region are living in poverty.”

Karl Tatler branches are collecting gifts up to Tuesday December 8.
