After a week of criticism from some parts of the industry, OnTheMarket has released a series of testimonials from agents who say the portal provides high quality leads and does not damage business.
In the OTM press release issued yesterday afternoon, Vic Chott from Woodland, a firm with offices in south east London, says: “We have been with OnTheMarket since it launched in January 2015 and are very impressed with its rapid growth in such a short space of time…..we are still winning instructions and selling homes and so is every other agent we know who has joined OnTheMarket.”
John Payne from Payne Associates in Coventry, a four office firm, says: “Getting on board with the only agent-owned portal is about having courage behind your convictions, of course we had hesitations about joining but these have proved to be unfounded… We feel that OTM is the easiest and clearest portal to use and our customers have noticed this too.”
A third testimonial comes from Simon Brown of high end Scottish agency CKD Galbraith, with 11 offices. He says: “We are pleased with the level of leads provided by OTM and these account for around 25 per cent of the total supplied to us, 50 per cent are from Rightmove and the remaining 25 per cent are from our websites, walk-ins and advertising….Agents who have yet to join must not succumb to the spin put out and current members must persevere and persuade other agents to join and communicate the long term benefits which will give OTM time to build.”
Other testimonials comes from Kelvin Francis a two branch agency in south east Wales, and Edward Foley owner of Winkworth in Wimbledon.
Ian Springett, OTM’s chief executive, says this “excellent feedback” proves how much his portal has achieved in nine months. “This is still only the beginning and we look forward to welcoming new members, building on lead volumes for existing members and continuing to provide a superior digital platform which is clean and clear for consumers” he says.
However, OTM has not formally responded publicly to the controversial open letter from industry guru and training expert Richard Rawlings, which was issued on Friday and provoked debate on Estate Agent Today over the weekend and in other trade publications yesterday.

Ckd Galbraith gets 25% of their leads from their own website .. Really ? Having seen it first hand that would suprise me .....
Four testimonials from 5300 members hmmm
Ouch. This is desperate stuff
Why is it that these testimonials are suddenly not credible just because they are positive? All the negative testimonials you see could be disingenuous coming from people with a different agenda.
Springett said that by January 2016 OTM would be the number 2 portal - this is not going to happen. In a showdown between Springett and Chesterman, there is only ever going to be one winner! Chesterman has enough skin in the game to remain committed, to Zoopla and agents, it seems are beginning to drift back.
The public don't care about what agents want, they just want to find a property!
I actually wish OTM well, I would join but for 'one other portal' rule. OTM is just Primelocation in a different suit. It's nothing new, OTM should be breaking new ground not raking over old ashes.
And let me guess Paul, OTM didn't call these agents to ask for them !! how many reviews from agents have you seen for RM or ZPG and as Steve Duncan says 4 reviews out of 5300 oh and in two months they are going to have 7000 member offices .... heads down boys here comes a flying Pig
So what? They've been attacked left, right and centre so have needed to respond. Using this way of thinking every review/testimonial on an agent's site has been asked for is now worthless then?
