A new survey of over 1,350 homeowners across the UK shows that a large number regard the conveyancing process as too slow.
Some 42 per cent told the survey - commissioned by environmental data firm Landmark Information Group - that the conveyancing process was too complicated and too slow. Only four per cent felt it was quick and just three per cent regard is as modern, while 25 per cent believed it required bringing up to date.
Some 22 per cent said they were confused and relied on the guidance provided by the solicitor when receiving the environmental search reports, in order to summarise the key findings and interpret the risks.
“With everything being ‘digital’ in today’s world, people are used to carrying out transactions with speed and immediacy. It’s therefore clear ... changes need to happen in order to meet people’s evolving needs and expectations” says a spokeswoman for Landmark.

It does need an overhaul. The system is antiquated and far too slow. Conveyancers also appear to be extremely concerned more with covering their own a***s than giving the best service to their clients.
