Tech start-up wants 2,000 agents to co-brand tool for home-movers

The company behind Homeshift, an online tool which helps home-movers, says it aims to build on its current 200 estate and letting agent partners in the next year.

The service, which launched in late summer to a pilot group of agents, gives home movers a single online service to co-ordinate contacts from estate agents, solicitors and mortgage brokers, to streamline change-of-address information sent to utility and other providers, and to offer provider-switching services for consumers.

Agents are able to co-brand the service and in return, according to Homeshift, “can earn life-time revenues from services bought by customers.” Agents are also able to promote their preferred partners including their existing solicitors, mortgage brokers and more.

Homeshift’s funding has come from venture capital funds and prominent investors including Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn and former Primelocation and FindaProperty Group marketing director, Sheraz Dar.

“We’re offering a new life-time revenue opportunity for estate and letting agents. We’re proud to already work with 200-plus estate agents and with this new funding we plan to grow that number 10 fold in 2016” says Kenny Alegbe, chief executive of Homeshift.

They are going to have stiff competition from the likes of MoveIT being rolled out by PSG which sits alongside all their software platforms. They only offer conveyancing at the moment but other services, like those listed here, are to be rolled out soon.

Thought you were talking about the football team for a minute there. I was thinking, I know they've got a lot of money these days, but it would still be weird for them invest in a tech start-up in the British property industry.

Looked it up on Google and realised you were talking about The Property Software Group.

Yes, should be plenty of competition between all these new start-ups. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
