Agents Do Charity … week in, week out

We’re here again to publicise the side of British estate agency that rarely presents itself to the public - the fund-raising, warm-hearted work for charity.

Macmillan Cancer Support: Kent estate agent Robinson Michael & Jackson has organised its annual charity cycle ride for Sunday June 14, riding from Gravesend to Mote Park, Maidstone in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The bike ride, which covers a distance of approximately 29 miles (although there is a shorter 11.4 mile route cyclists can join) is free to enter, starting in Gravesend, stopping at Robinson Michael Jackson's Sittingbourne and finally finishing at Mote Park in Maidstone, where the estate agent hopes families and the local community will join the cyclists as part of a fun day with attractions, festivities and food. Agents Giving: Make a splash in June and get involved in the very first Great British Property Paddle in aid of Agents Giving. The event taking place between June 8 and July 2 is a sponsored paddle along the waterways of England, starting in Tonbridge in Kent and finishing in Windsor – a distance of over 300 miles. The idea is that everyone should aim to raise as much money in sponsorship as possible for good causes which include Agents Giving supported charities MacMillan Cancer Support, Guide Dogs and the British Heart Foundation. The event is being sponsored by estate agencies Lenwell and Davis Tate and also the Property Academy.

GlobalGiving Nepal: The staff at FleetMilne Property raised £313.60 for GlobalGiving’s Nepal earthquake relief fund. Owner and commercial director Nicola Fleet-Milne and three members of her team took part in a range of silent activities to raise money for the victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal. Nicola was joined in her silence by head of training and compliance, Irma Deeming. Luca Davis, sales negotiator, and Dan Malin, marketing executive, also joined in the fundraising efforts by gaining sponsorship for not singing along to the radio. The total figure raised represented 627% of their original target of £50.

British Heart Foundation: On June 27 the founder of turtlehomes.co.uk will be embarking on a 750 mile bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation.  Starting from Gloucester Richard Tuck and his partner Faye Williams will aim to arrive in Scourie in the Scottish Highlands in 13 days. The Prince’s Trust: Keller Williams dedicated yesterday, May 14, to giving something back to the community - in the case of the UK part of this global agency, Keller Williams UK shut down to get involved in ‘Red Day’ launching a partnership with The Prince's Trust. “Today, 40+ of the Keller Williams UK management and agents signed up to volunteer for a number of the Prince’s Trust programmes over the next 12 months giving their time and sharing their experiences on a voluntary basis. We will also be donating a significant figure to the trust over the next 5 years to reinforce our commitment” says Donald Morris, Keller Williams UK founder and chairman. The Prince’s Trust helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track. It supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion.
