A Scottish agent is the latest to praise the app Periscope, a social media platform which allows users to broadcast a live stream around the world.
Alan Nash, director of Edinburgh agency Ace Property Management, has taken to his blog to say that he believes Periscope will ‘change the game’ in the property industry.
Nash writes that in late April he spent a day broadcasting walking property tours and other videos, gaining numerous followers along the way.
“Once I had finished it hit me how good this app just might be. I can promote all my properties and potential viewers can tune in and walk around them with me in real time whilst asking questions,” he writes.
“Within my portfolio of landlords I have overseas clients that would love a real time walkthrough. Being able to interact with clients online during a live feed is definitely a selling point when pitching to new landlords.”
Nash says the app, which was recently acquired by Twitter, is a powerful tool that cannot be overlooked and that it could encourage a quicker decision to purchase, diminishing the need for a second viewing.
Last week Simon Bradbury, director of Thomas Morris in Cambridgeshire, hailed the app as ‘the future of estate agency’ after using it for what the agency claimed was the world’s first virtual open house viewing.
Footage of the event has since been published on the BBC website.

Good to see not all agents are living in the dinosaur age.
So if you don't agree with virtual tour apps you're a dinosaur? I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but it seems a tad harsh to label everyone who doesn't agree with this as a stuck-in-the-past Luddite.
