Agents Do Charity - come rain or shine

The largely unpredictable June weather is yet to dampen the UK’s agents’ spirits when it comes to charity as thousands more pounds have been raised for various causes this week.

Guide Running: Jennie Roberts, sales negotiator at the Dawlish office of Force and Sons, will be running in the Torbay Half Marathon on Sunday 28th June as a guide for a blind hobbyist athlete, who will be coming to the area from his home in Germany specifically to take part in the event.

www.guiderunning.uk matches visually impaired runners with willing guides and Roberts says she is looking forward to helping a fellow runner achieve a goal.

British Red Cross: Wirral’s Karl Tatler Estate Agents & Lettings is sponsoring Heswell Summer Fair, taking place tomorrow (June 6) and all proceeds will be going towards Red Cross in Merseyside.

Karl Tatler’s staff will also be baking cakes to sell on the day and will be raffling off a Weber BBQ package.

Macmillan Cancer Support: Seymours Estate Agents recently took part in the third annual Seymours Relay, which saw the group’s entire network pass a  baton from office to office over a nine hour period. 

Despite a thoroughly rainy day, the 15 offices taking part have managed to raise over £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 
  
Max Chapman, who ran the last leg of the relay, commented:  “Unlike the last two events, which were sunny, warm and dry, this year’s event was cold, grey and very wet. Yet despite the weather, morale was high and our commitment to Macmillan Cancer Support remained unabated as we tackled over 70 miles, passing the baton from office to office.”

CoppaFeel!: Ten members of staff from Pinnacle Lettings and Let MC in Cardiff recently took part in the Welsh 4 Peaks Mountain Challenge.

The agents were joined by seven Cardiff University CoppaFeel! Society students to raise money for the charity which works to increase the early detection of breast cancer by educating young people. 
 
The team braved miserable weather and aching limbs during their tiring 28 mile journey but were rewarded with some sunshine at the conclusion of their adventure.
 
So far £3,200 has been raised but more money is continuing to roll in. 

The event was organised with the help of a grant from the Rightmove Fund.

Centrepoint: Fourteen eMoov staff – including director Russell Quirk – recently took part in the Nuclear Races Mud Run in Klevedon Hatch. 

The agents tackled the 6km mud bath assault course to raise money for Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. 

All in all the team raised just over the £400 mark, which has been rounded up to £500 by the company. 

“The team and I struggled through the mud, water and obstacles to complete the course in just under the two hour mark. We’re delighted to have been able to raise some money for such a valuable cause,” commented Quirk.
