It’s pretty hot out there but our industry still confounds critics by doing good work for good causes.

In the meantime, here are this week’s fund-raisers...
Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice: Lloyd Davies, managing director of Convey Law, has won a prestigious award at the Welsh Institute of Directors Awards ceremony as a result of his fundraising endeavours.
The latest conveyancing fundraising initiative is The Matterhorn Challenge in aid of the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice. Lloyd and the Conveyancing Association are leading the campaign to raise over £50,000.00 over the next three months. The challenge involves conveyancer Geraint Aubrey climbing the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps in August.
By way of rehearsal, tomorrow Geraint, Lloyd and six other colleagues will be climbing the three highest mountains in Wales, including Mount Snowdon, in support of the Hospice.
The Conveyancing Foundation will officially launch in September with a ‘Free Legal Fee Lottery Competition’ providing clients with the opportunity to receive a refund of up to £500.00 from their conveyancing fees.
Volunteer Support North Surrey: Following 18 months of working with a variety of different local organisations, Waterfords estate agents - which has offices in Camberley, Sunningdale, Chobham, Fleet and Yateley - has won a Surrey Heath Volunteer Award for Business Contribution to the Community.
Having been an agent in the local area for over 20 years, Waterfords decision to start working with not-for profit organisations was borne out of a desire to improve the local community, meet more of the people the staff come into contact with on a daily basis and give something back to those that have supported the company for so long.
To date, Waterfords has carried out work for Make a Wish Foundation, Sure Start Children’s Centre, Frimhurst House, White Lodge, Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Christopher’s Smile and Abbey School in Farnham. In total staff have donated more than 300 hours to community support and have even more projects lined up for the coming months.

Seacroft Grange Primary School: The Crossgates branch of Manning Stainton has helped a local school football team turn on the style. Thanks to the generosity of the area’s leading estate agent the year 5/6 boys and girls at Seacroft Grange Primary School now play in a stylish new kit, making them the envy of all their opponents.
The strip also includes a special badge replicating the mighty Barcelona and means the children can dream about following in the footsteps of heroes like Lionel Messi.
Crossgates Branch Manager Lesley Robinson visited the school recently to see the team in their new kit and says: “They all looked fantastic and were clearly thrilled to bits, which makes it all worthwhile. In 2014 we donated nearly £100,000 and in doing so received the award for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards in association with The Sunday Times.”

St John’s Hospice, Lancaster: The Lettings Bureau, Fisher Wrathall, has undertaken a 25k Moonlight walk in aid of the St Johns Hospice in Lancaster. The Moonlight Walk is by far the biggest event in the St John's Hospice events calendar, which is why it is so important to us that we have your support, year after year.
Last year they raised a massive £100,000 and this year they need to make sure they can raise as much as they can in 2015 to continue supporting patients and families at a time when they need it the most.
