A new-build penthouse in Mayfair, handled jointly by Knight Frank and Wetherell agencies, has broken the price record for any residential property deal in London so far this year at £7,000 per square foot.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that this is the highest price per square foot achieved for any home in 2015, and has previously been beaten only by a handful of sales in Knightsbridge in the stronger markets of 2013 and 2014.
The penthouse at 77 Mayfair, built by developer Luxlo, is one of six apartments which have all sold off plan over the last seven months and totalled £100m in separate deals. The average price for the six works out at £5,500 psf.
The newspaper reports that the penthouse is understood to have three bedrooms and a roof terrace, be arranged over two floors, and has car parking spaces and staff quarters.
The block will be completed next year, is next to Hyde Park and overlooks the Dorchester Hotel.

Wow! Only in Mayfair…
Indeed. It's pretty obscene, isn't it?
