Connells says its sales figures for June show a 27.5 per cent rise on the same month last year.
The agency has also seen a 44 per cent increase in market appraisal leads coming from portals.
The figures come at the end of a strong week for the housing market with a report from the Office of National Statistics showing house prices across the UK have risen by an average of 5.7 per cent in the year to May, and a survey from the Council of Mortgage Lenders showing a small rise in loans to owner occupier house buyers.
Connells group chief executive David Plumtree put his firm’s increased business down to the removal of election uncertainty, increase confidence amongst sellers and buyers, and “our additional presence across Rightmove, Zoopla and our own websites” boosting instructions and sales.
