It’s been another busy week for charitable good works from our industry.
We ran this example of a particularly public-spirited agent earlier this week and today we have our usual round-up of fund-raising for good causes.
If you’re doing anything that merits a mention here, please email us on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we will salute you (and, more importantly, mention how to contribute to your great cause.)
On with the good work...
Age UK Exeter: Kris Romsee of Peach Lettings is taking part in a 10k run for Age UK Exeter on March 20. “It may not seem like a lot but I am somewhat of a couch potato and not really into sports at all, but I am just going to go for it” admits Kris.

Greene & Co Local Initiatives: North London estate agent Greene & Co has held art exhibitions to baking competitions, a Halloween children’s pumpkin-painting workshop and a Santa’s Grotto to raise funds for good causes.
The company has established strong ties with a number of local schools which they have supported, sponsoring summer fetes, holding talks and even hosting an international evening. Over the summer the estate agent sponsored ‘Handpicked’, a pop-up exhibition at Clerkenwell Gallery, featuring the work of three exciting up-and-coming artists. Meanwhile in Kensal Rise, the firm is behind the popular ‘Greene Sundays’ event in partnership with Lexi Cinema which sees tickets reduced from £12 to £2.50 every second Sunday.
“As a community-focussed firm, supporting local events, causes and charities has always been a cornerstone of our business. We see it as a great honour to be able to positively impact the communities we work alongside on a daily basis” says Stephen Matthews, group sales director.
Flood Victims: After the recent spell of flooding across Yorkshire and Cumbria, Searches UK & Groundsure have pledged to donate money to charity for every Groundsure Flood Report that is ordered through Searches UK.
Ordering a Flood Report during a property transaction to ensure solicitors and conveyancers are carrying out robust due diligence checks is more important than ever to help homebuyers determine if their future property may be affected by flooding.
Money will be donated to two charities at the end of January: the Cumbria Flood Recovery Appeal and the Calderdale Flood Relief Appeal. Both were set up to aid families affected by the flooding at the end of 2015 and money raised will be put towards grants for emergency accommodation, cleaning materials including disinfectant and buying furniture and white goods to replace those that were irreparably damaged.

Agency Express Soapbox Challenge: After the successful launch of the Agency Express Soapbox Challenge in 2015, it’s happening all over again on June 25 at Penn House Estate, Buckinghamshire - and it’s all in aid of Agents Giving.
The challenge is to get a team and driver, build and design your own soap box kart, choose a team name, raise cash through sponsorship - and arrive on the day raring to hurtle down a one mile hill, remembering it’s all in a good cause.
There are prizes of cash or free boards from Agency Express and if you want details, just look here.
