London house price changes range hugely from +16% to -16%

Data from Your Move suggests annual house price movements in London boroughs range massively from +16.4 per cent to -16.5 per cent.

In line with a string of recent figures from agents, portals and others, the slowdown in price is most acute in prime London property.

The capital’s five most expensive boroughs have all seen annual price declines, ranging from a 16.5 per cent drop in Camden to 3.9 per cent in the City of London. Prices in the most expensive borough, Kensington and Chelsea, are now £1,659,888, down 6.8 per cent on this time last year.

Overall, average annual price increases in greater London have fallen from 4.7 per cent last month to 2.5 per cent this month, following a month-on-month drop of 0.6 per cent.

Boroughs with price increases are led by Barking and Dagenham, up 16.4 per cent over the year but with the average property still being only £291,801. Redbridge was up 15.6 per cent annually and Bexley up 15 per cent.
