Rightmove has employed jClarity, a ‘performance tuning specialist’, to improve the search facility on its applications.
A statement from jClarity on the online publication Tech City News says that Rightmove will be using the firm’s “specialist performance diagnostics engine, machine learning algorithms and expert Java advice” to “improve users’ property search experience.”
The firm says even small performance problems can lead to a loss of users in a competitive field such as property portal apps, and its input to the service will allow Rightmove staff to more rapidly diagnose and rectify technical issues.
jClarity will assist Rightmove’s staff to identify and correct Java software errors. The portal’s staff have been trained to use the firm’s tools and there will in addition be a remote service to handle more complicated problems.
“jClarity’s monitoring services and products, together with their training and technical input, have greatly improved our visibility of the performance of our Java applications” says Tim Harding, operations manager at Rightmove.
“Aside from just being a supplier, they are proactive in helping us improve the performance and stability of our apps and are a valued partner in making sure our site maintains the high degree of availability and performance people expect from it” he adds.
Back in July, Rightmove reported to the City that it now had an 81 per cent share of the mobile ‘home mover audience'.
