New research suggests there has been a slight increase in the total number of estate agency offices in Greater London this year, despite the downturn in the housing market in some parts of the capital.
Online agency HouseSimple, which conducted a similar exercise last Christmas, says almost a third of London’s borough have more than 100 agency offices with two - Southwark, and Barking & Dagenham - seeing a 10.7 per cent rise in the number of physical agency offices in 2016.
However, around 40 per cent of boroughs have seen a fall - Barnet, for example, has 7.2 per cent fewer branches now than a year ago.
