It’s not just organised charity fund-raising that our industry throws its weight behind - it’s also individual acts of kindness and communities helping themselves in an emergency.
We have two examples this week and we know there are more out there.
If you want publicity for your firm’s wonderful work, let us know please on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk and we’ll do our best to support you.
In the meantime, here are two heartwarming stories...
Louie and Ava’s Dream: Hull estate agents Beercock Wiles & Wick have valued the house of the grandparents of brave twins Louie and Ava who were born nine weeks prematurely. They now suffer from forms of cerebral palsy.
They need £70,000 for medical assistance and Beercock Wiles & Wick is doing its bit by selling the twins’ grandparents’ home for free.
The agency has asked us to promote the twins’ Justgiving page. It's here - do please donate.
#CalderdaleRising: Over 100 businesses have joined forces in this campaign organised by Business for Calderdale and so far, the pledged fund stands at just over £122,800. One of the companies involved is Claire Sheehan Estate Agents.
The campaign ends on February 12 and the fund must reach £150,000 otherwise no monies will be collected or handed out. Claire says the collective effort to raise money to help re-instate the commercial fabric of the Calder Valley is vital. Businesses who have really suffered (as a result from no flood insurance, high excesses or immeasurable loss of trade) need all the extra help they can get. Government funds won't match the recovery needs of the Calderdale
“In many ways, it doesn't feel right to ask for donations, but on the other hand we understand that any money raised could be match funded by the Government, and poured back into the businesses and community of the Calder Valley. People can help by pledging just £5 to the fund or they can pledge higher amounts and receive various Rewards in return” says Claire.
“I have prepared a First Time Buyer Tips & Tricks from the Professionals, written especially for the campaign and so far we have 10 backers each pledging £10 for their E book copy.”
