Alex Bailes, until recently last autumn was spearheading the Countrywide’s activities in the digital world, has now reappeared as Connells Group Head of Digital.
Alongside him will be Anthony Glasgow who has been promoted to Connells Group Chief Information Officer from his role as Connells Group IT Director.
As we reported when the news broke yesterday afternoon, their roles are officially described as supporting Connells “in meeting the changing needs of customers and a growing customer base by blending digital technologies with Connells’ traditional values and customer focused service.”
Connells recently stole a march on Countrywide, and others in the agency world, by acquiring online estate agency Hatched. With Countrywide it has also formed a strategic partnership with Fixflo.com.
In his new role, Glasgow, who has over 15 years’ experience in the property industry, will “provide a consolidated approach to strengthening the group's overarching digital strategy, maintaining its proposition and supporting long term plans to further evolve and expand in this area.”
Meanwhile Bailes, who held several senior IT and digital positions at Countrywide, is now charged with “driving and developing both the digital strategy and existing partnerships across the Connells group and will lead the group's activities as it continues to increase its investment in this area.”
