The housing market is coming out of the winter doldrums but remains much quieter than at this time last year according to data collated by Agency Express.
It says its new ‘For Sale’ listings have risen 23.3 per cent in February over the previous while ‘Sold’ rose by 37.6 per cent.
However the supply of new listings a year ago, in February 2015, was 51.4 per cent over the previous month.
Looking at performance across the rest of the UK, all 12 regions recorded by Agency Express reported increases in both new listings ‘For Sale’ and properties ‘Sold’.
This month’s top performing region, Scotland, has seen a promising start to 2016. After experiencing a volatile property market throughout 2015 Scotland saw welcomed surge in activity, recording a 44.3 per cent increase in new ‘For Sale’ listings and a 62.6 per cent increase in properties ‘Sold’.
