Rightmove’s commercial director, Miles Shipside, is to make a rare intervention in the debate on the future of estate agency by hosting a round-table discussion on the issue.
It will take place at this spring’s Future: Property Tech event. Attendance at the round-table will be strictly limited - to just 30 people according to event organisers - and they will see exclusive Rightmove research.
Discussion at the round-table will include ‘The Rise of Super Agents’, looking at whether the breed of fast-growing agency groups expanding through franchises and acquisitions demonstrate a winning formula for the industry.
There will also be discussion on Improving Efficiency, and whether technology is enabling agents to save time from mundane repetitive tasks, so allowing them to concentrate on more strategic roles and talking to customers.
The rest of the Future: Property Tech event has equally impressive attendees, including Alex Bailes (now head of digital at Connells Group and formerly in a similar role at Countrywide), Rajeev Nayyar (founder and managing director of Fixflo, which has recently secured investment from a consortium including Countrywide, Connells and Zoopla), Russell Quirk (founder and chief executive of online agency eMoov), and Paul Whitehead (group strategy director of Zoopla).
Details of the overall event can be found here.
