There is a slowdown in homes coming to the market and in those selling according to data from Agency Express based on its board activity.
National ‘Sold’ figures declined for a third consecutive month, dow 4.4 per cent, with new ‘For Sale’ listings down 3.7 per cent.
Agency Express says that while a slowdown during May is not unusual the decline is greater than years previous, although figures may still be somewhat distorted by the stamp duty changes.
Performance across the rest of the UK remained consistent for May.
Only three of the 12 regions recorded by the company reported increases in properties ‘Sold’ and only four recorded increases in new listings ‘For Sale’.
This month’s top performing regions for properties ‘Sold’ were Scotland (up 11.1 per cent), in Central England (up 2.5 per cent) and South West (up 0.7 per cent).
High performing regions with new listings ‘For Sale’ include East Anglia (up 12.1 per cent), London (up 6.2 per cent), Scotland (up 5.2 per cent) and Central England (up 3.3 per cent).
The largest decline made in this month’s Agency Express survey was recorded by the South East where new listings ‘For Sale’ fell 16 per cent and properties ‘Sold’ were down 11.9 per cent.
