Stacks Property Search & Acquisition has become the first independent buying agency to become a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
The Gloucestershire-based franchise firm, which has offices in London and across much of southern England, the Cotswolds and Midlands and Wales, says only three per cent of transactions it has handled in the past decade have fallen through - about a tenth of the fall-through rate in the wider market.
“It’s a recognition of how we are at the forefront of rising standards and levels of service in the buying agent industry that is becoming increasingly mainstream” explains James Greenwood, Stacks’ managing director.
“Buying agents are usually insufficiently qualified to be members of the RICS. The professional body for relocation is the Association of Relocation Professionals” he says.
Stacks Property Search, established in 1984, is the 2016 winner of the ARP Award for Best Property Finder.
In another sign of buying agents becoming more mainstream, back in 2013 The Property Ombudsman launched its first code of conduct for the sector.
