EweMove, which describes itself as the UK’s first hybrid estate agency, claims it has seen completions over the past two months soar by 56 per cent over the same period last year.
Glenn Ackroyd, co-founder and self-styled ‘Head Shepherd’ at EweMove says the increased business for his firm confounds Brexit pessimists and goes against the trend of some large traditional agencies - including Countrywide and Foxtons - which earlier this year issued profit warnings.
“Whilst some agencies have undoubtedly been hit by this resultant uncertainty, our latest figures show that for us this is absolutely to the contrary. We’ve seen a continued confidence amongst both buyers and sellers, and an overall buoyant housing market – showcased by the number of completions across our branch network increasing phenomenally over the past 12 months, with the last few weeks in particular being better than ever” insists Ackroyd.
“We focus on tracking, monitoring and reporting on the number of property completions we achieve, and not solely the number of listings. After all, anyone can ‘list’ a property, but a seller cares about when and for how much their property is going to be sold” he says.
The agency’s figures for its 94 branches across the UK come a day after YOPA, another hybrid firm, claim that its had seen instructions increase five-fold since February and valuations quadruple since the start of the year.
EweMove’s hybrid model is based on over 170 experienced local property agents on the ground across the UK and a no sale, no fee and no tie-ins commitment which it terms its ‘Happy Sale Guarantee’.

56% Increase.
What is that in real numbers? how many completed in that period last year compared to this year?
If could have been 2 properties in 2015 and 3 properties in 2016 = Actually that would just be a 50% increase. But you see my point.
Also be interesting to see the number of completions over the two months divided by the number of offices they allegedly have (94).
Without putting water on his fire, i bet Foxtons and Countrywides operating profit will be greater than his year end.
Completely agree. 56% of what?? Without the figures completed it means 0%.
