A man has been banned from going near an estate agency office or its staff after he swore at one of its employees in the street.
The Yorkshire Press reports that the branch manager of Ashtons Estate Agents in Selby, Neil McGroarty, was walking down a street when Gary Coleman walked in front of him, gesticulating and insulting him.
A court hearing was told that this was not the first incident of its kind involving Coleman, who used to live to the rear of the agency office. “There is a history" the court was told.
The Yorkshire Press says Coleman - who appeared to turn his back on the presiding judge for part of the court case - pleaded guilty to a public order offence. and was fined £100 with £86 prosecution costs and a £30 statutory surcharge.
He was made subject to a restraining order that bans him indefinitely from approaching any member of Ashtons' staff and from approaching the branch itself.
Coleman’s solicitor said his client had mental health problems and believed he had “ongoing difficulties" with the agency.
