Members of the Residential Property Surveyors Association say there has been no drop-off in instruction levels during August, confounding pessimists who anticipated Brexit would lead to a slowdown in the market.
Demand for Home Condition Surveys and Building Surveys are continuing at high levels this month, continuing the roughly 30 per cent growth rate seen in the first half of 2016 says the RPSA, which is a not-for-profit organisation.
“Even the traditionally slow holiday period hasn’t dampened demand, and many members report a higher than average level of enquiries during the first two weeks of August” says RPSA chairman Alan Milstein.
“Far from seeing demand growth in cheaper, more basic surveys, the opposite seems to be the case, with a higher proportion of buyers are choosing a more thorough Home Condition Survey or Building Survey” he says.
