The Guild of Property Professionals is to allow its associate members to have ID cards showing clients that they have passed trading standards accredited training.
The cards will be available to all those who have completed The Guild’s new Associate Training Scheme, which is approved by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards.
The scheme includes sales and lettings training on the latest compliance and sector regulation.
A statement from the Guild says completing the training means that the agent can prove to customers that they have completed an accredited training scheme, demonstrating that they have the knowledge and skill to successfully sell their home.
“Showing a card at a valuation that says the agent has completed Trading Standards Accredited training will put a Guild agent above their competitors and win instructions. Now the public can recognise trained property professionals with confidence” says Guild chief executive Iain McKenzie.
The training is online and is free for Guild members; once they have passed they can order an ID card for £5 from the Guild’s central London office.
