Online agency Elopa has dropped a claim on its website that its Open House method of selling properties achieved the best price and the shortest marketing period for clients.
This follows a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ASA says Elopa, the trading name of Elopa Ltd, claimed on the website “that their Open House Method of selling properties achieved the best price and the shortest marketing period for clients.”
A complainant challenged whether these claims could be substantiated.
A spokeswoman for the ASA says: “After we approached the advertiser with our concerns, the company agreed to remove these claims from their website.” The authority then considered the complaint to have been resolved informally.
When Estate Agent Today checked the Elopa website yesterday evening it read: “Sell your property for FREE using our innovative Open House method. Designed to sell properties for the best price in a much shorter time than the traditional estate agent approach without charging you any selling fees at all.”
