Thieves have broken into an estate agency branch within a fortnight of it opening and are reported to have stolen equipment worth around £6,000.
The burglary at the office of Samuel Makepeace Bespoke Estate Agents at Kidsgrove in Staffordshire is believed to have involved a number of individuals who wrecked the office and stole computer and office equipment.
Dino Vella, a director at the firm, is quoted in the Stoke Sentinel as saying: "I'm gutted. We're a brand new branch that has only been open for a week-and-a-half. We've been trying to build up the business and then this happens. It is the last thing we want to deal with.
"They have smashed through the front door window and gone through all of our cupboards and drawers. They've stolen two computers, a camera and a workman's tools. Obviously we need to get things cleaned up and we can go again. This incident has probably put us between £5,000 and £6,000 out of pocket."
Police say any witnesses should call 101, quoting incident 85 of November 10.
