Independent agency Coast and Castle has been acquired by Signature, a chain in the north east of England with 18 other branches across Tyne and Wear.
Coast and Castle was founded in 2012 by directors Colin and Karen Parker and was originally an online agency. It now offers three options to vendors - a fixed non-refundable sale fee from £995 plus VAT, plus two no-sale no-fee options based on percentages of the sale price.
Coast and Castle managing director Karen Parker is quoted in the Northumberland Gazette saying: “Colin and I have other business interests and we feel the time is right to hand over the further expansion of Coast and Castle.”
Signature, which started in Whitley Bay in 2010, bills itself on its website as the largest hybrid agency in the north west region.
It says there are 19 valuation managers based across the region and so far the chain has sold in excess of £500m worth of property.
