Carter Jonas is expanding its activities in south west England by opening new branches and through the unusual route of a ‘transition’ - effectively taking over a team of staff now working at Humberts, with the agreement of both agencies.
Carter Jonas is to open two new offices, in Taunton and Truro, to give the company a total of 38 offices in the UK.
David Hebditch, a prominent Humberts figure in the south west, will join the company along with other members of his team. Hebditch has over 30 years of experience in the rural sector working at a national and regional level, providing sales and rural management advice to institutional and private clients.
“With Humberts embarking on a new overall business strategy for 2017 and beyond we are sad to say goodbye to David Hebditch and his local Taunton rural team. Our current clients in Taunton will experience a carefully managed transition over to Carter Jonas and it will be business as usual for the remainder of our rural business” says Ian Westerling, managing director of Humberts.
Towards the end of last year Humberts announced it would use a franchise model to expand its business outside its previous rural and semi-rural heartlands in the south of England.
Carter Jonas says this is part of the firm’s long-term plans to expand its business further after 50 per cent growth in the last three years.
