The new chief marketing officer of online estate agency YOPA is a figure with over 20 years experience with brands such as Paddy Power, O2 and Guinness.
Gav Thompson is to leave his current position as interim chief of marketing at drinks giant C&C Group to join YOPA, currently enjoying a high-profile TV advertising campaign featuring the Village People.
Advertising website The Drum says Thompson has two decades in the marketing world working with brands including Paddy Power, O2, giffgaff, PlayStation and Guinness.
YOPA chief executive and founder, Daniel Attia, created the company in 2015 and last year won an undisclosed amount of financial investment from high-end traditional agency Savills.
Commenting on Thompson’s arrival, Attia told The Drum: “We are delighted to welcome Gav to the team. His customer-centric approach aligns perfectly with our values, and his vision and experience are second to none - and just what we need as we embark on the next stage of our growth.”
Thompson described YOPA’s approach to “disrupting the commoditised” the world of estate agency as “exciting and ambitious”.
He said: “The opportunity to help them on their journey to become an admired and powerful consumer-focused brand is the perfect next role for me. Dan and the team are a formidable force and I can’t wait to get cracking.”
