Estate Agent Today understands that the fledgling trade group CIELA - the Charter for Independent Estate and Letting Agents - has parted ways with the PR professionals it hired to represent its activities less than two months ago.
The PR reps had previously worked with Zoopla and the online agency Tepilo and at the time they were hired in early April they were described as having a good track record with consumer coverage, a key objective of the new group.
Until a new firm is instructed, the group is handling its own PR.
Meanwhile CIELA is today holding a four hour ‘supplier and partner’ meeting at a hotel at Battersea in London where the group is discussing what it calls “possible plans” for how industry suppliers can work with the trade group.
Yesterday CIELA tweeted that “50-plus suppliers including well known national brands” were attending the meeting.
CIELA was set up over the winter by industry software entrepreneur Charlie Wright, is part way through a process of recruiting members, and in recent months has been outspoken in its criticism of online estate agencies in general and Purplebricks in particular.
