The three-office RH & RW Clutton agency has issued a statement to say it’s alive and well - and unaffected by a dramatic restructuring at the better-known company called Cluttons.
Last week we reported that Cluttons had been bought out of pre-pack administration by a so-called ‘turnaround’ finance company, with a restructuring involving the closure of three of the agency’s London estate agency offices.
Now RH and RW Clutton has acted to reassure clients that the restructuring has nothing to do with that business, which is linked to Cluttons only via history.
“RH & RW Clutton LLP was established in 1743 and is probably the oldest surviving firm of independent chartered surveyors. In 1837, one of the firm’s partners, John Clutton, left for London to set up Cluttons, before separating the business from RH & RW Clutton entirely in 1851” explains George Back, senior partner.
RH & RW Clutton has three offices for its estate agency, land agency and chartered surveying business, in East Grinstead, Guildford and Petworth.
“We are continuing to invest to better support our clients, and our new office in Petworth and the expansion of both our residential and commercial agencies. ... The firm remains the original representation of the Clutton name and we are proud of our continuing reputation for unrivalled professional property advice” says Back.
