Guild training programme approved by Trading Standards

Independent estate agency network The Guild of Property Professionals has announced that its training scheme has been given formal approval.

The Associate Scheme – which covers sales and lettings – has been approved by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards.

The in-house training is available to all staff working for one of The Guild's 800 member firms and includes over 40 separate modules.

Agents who complete the training scheme become a 'Guild Associate' and are awarded with a certificate which will now feature a Trading Standards logo.

Alongside the Associate Scheme, The Guild also offers the Enhanced Scheme which covers the skills and nuances of the property industry in-depth.

“We are delighted to be working with Cambridgeshire County Council in a co-ordinated Primary Authority Partnership," says Paul Offley, compliance officer at The Guild.

The organisation's chief executive, Iain McKenzie, adds: “Trust and confidence is one of the four pillars of strength within The Guild."

"This not only applies to the relationship we have with our members, but more importantly our members' relationships with their customers."

Last week, The Guild's parent company – GPEA Ltd – announced that it is merging with easyProperty to form eProp Services Ltd.

The merger will see easyProperty restructured and relaunched, while Guild member agents and Fine & Country firms will be given the opportunity to licence the easyProperty brand and offer clients budget marketing services.
