A man who stole envelopes containing keys from an estate agents’ office by using a pole projected through the letter box will find out whether he goes to jail at the end of July.
William Kennedy, of Galashiels, was spotted acting suspiciously outside the premises of the agency Cullen and Kilshaw in the town last month.
Selkirk Sheriff Court was told the 32-year-old used a pole to unhook envelopes containing keys and pass them out through a letter box. He also admitted stealing perfume from a local shop earlier this year.
Background reports have been ordered and sentence deferred until July 31.
