A housebuilder has changed the price listed on Rightmove to the full marketing price after an intervention by the Advertising Standards Authority.
This follows a complaint to the ASA about a listing on the portal from Noble Homes, claiming that the price of a three bedroom house was £136,000.
The complainant challenged whether the ad was misleading as they understood the correct price was £170,000.
The ASA got in touch with Noble Homes and was told that the £136,000 figure was “the Help to Buy price” and that in fact £170,000 was the correct price for consumers not eligible or taking part in any Help to Buy scheme.
“They amended the ad and provided us with an assurance that, in future, any stated headline price will be the full marketing price” says an ASA spokeswoman.
The case was informally resolved.
