Royal Trinity Hospice, London: Susan Metcalfe Residential is backing this hospice and supporting a special carol concert at St Mary The Boltons on Wednesday December 5 at 6:30 pm. There will be guest readers, wine and mince pies.
Royal Trinity Hospice is the only dedicated end-of-life care provider for 750,000 people living across the central and south west London boroughs of Lambeth, Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham, Richmond, Merton, Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. Every day 27 people living in this area will find out that they have a terminal illness. They are here to help them live life to the full, whatever time they have left.
Last year Trinity supported 2,364 patients with life-limiting illnesses and their carers and loved ones. At any moment in time, they are supporting 700 patients and their families.
Deposit Protection Service: The DPS has awarded another £18,000 to charity.
In its most recent round of awards it has given £10,000 to The Lantern Trust and £8,000 to Elmbridge Rentstart.
Daren King, Head of Tenancy Deposit Protection at The DPS, says: “We’re delighted to be able to support these two wonderful charities. It’s really important to The DPS to be able to support organisations that play such a positive role in our sector, and we’re proud that our funding will continue to be used to help those in need.”
Elmbrige Rentstart supports homeless and vulnerably housed people in Elmbridge and Runnymede, and The Lantern Trust was founded in 1983 to benefit vulnerable and marginalised people in Weymouth and Portland.
Applications for the next round of awards must be submitted by December 31.
