MHM Charitable Trust: My Home Move has surpassed the £100,000 mark for charitable donations, following a record-breaking year of fundraising in 2017.

Some £28,000 was raised last year, through events such as the annual employee trek, a marathon bike ride and the charity auction held with My Home Move’s industry partners at its annual conference.

Industry partners donated over £12,000 through sponsorship of Head of Legal Practice, Rob Gurney’s, Lands’ End to John O’Groats bike ride, as well as bidding on days out and luxury items at the 2017 conference.

Speaking of the donation, Rob Gurney, Head of Legal Practice and Trustee for the MHM Charitable Trust, said: “We are always extremely grateful for the support of our industry partners for their donations to the Trust. Their involvement and enthusiasm for what we are trying to achieve through our fundraising efforts means we are able to help more and more people every year.

“Through new fundraising initiatives such as a monthly lottery, as well as challenges completed by employees across the business, we were able to raise more money in 2017 than we have ever before, so the impact we can have on the organisations we support is phenomenal.”

Clinks Care Farm: Durrants, which has offices in Beccles, Diss, Halesworth, Harleston and Southwold, will be supporting Clinks Care Farm which offers opportunities for people to work on the farm in a therapeutic environment.

Clinks Care Farm was launched in May 2010 and is run by husband and wife team Doeke Dobma and Iris van Zon. Mr Dobma said: “It’s great to have the support of such an important local business, which will help us in our mission to care for people, care for the land and produce healthy local food.”

Dominic Parravani, managing director of Durrants, said: “Durrants have worked with generations of farmers and landowners in Norfolk and Suffolk since 1853. Not only will Clinks Care Farm benefit financially from the money raised by us through charity events and competitions, but they will also benefit from our years of expertise.”

Sidmouth Voluntary Services: A Sidmouth estate agent has pledged to donate £50 for every house it is instructed to sell in 2018 to a transport charity.

Hall & Scott has selected SVS, which provides care and friendship to the elderly and disabled in the Sid Valley area of Devon, as its cause for the year.

Julia Turner, who manages its Sidmouth branch, says: “We are delighted to be involved with such a worthwhile local charity and look forward to donating a substantial sum of money during the year.

“Anyone who is thinking of selling their house can instruct us and help raise funds for a local charity at the same time.”

Hall & Scott’s sponsorship has been recognised on the side of SVS’s minibuses.
