An online estate agency brand launched a year ago by a traditional high street agent to ward off competition has exceeded expectations according to its founders.
Mark Worrall and Georgina Cox say love2move, founded in February 2017, has signed up 16 traditional estate agencies across the country.
The online platform, developed by Lancashire-based agency MovingWorks, allows physical agencies to offer customers a fixed-fee listing service for £895.
“With the rise of online estate agents who have vast marketing resources, traditional agents have been forced to think outside the box in order to prosper” says Cox, who created MovingWorks back in 2000.
“We set ourselves a target of 12 agents signing up to love2move and finished the year with 16, and also with proof that the concept really can add value to a traditional agent’s business” she adds.
Cox says 98.6 per cent of asking price has been achieved on the houses sold through love2move “which proves the benefit to online vendors of having a realistic valuation from a high street agent with local knowledge.”
The platform won publicity at its launch by claiming that it adopted the Tinder methodology of ‘swipe and select’; buyers communicate directly with sellers through an instant online chat function.
