Property Jobs Today - all the latest industry moves...

Hello and welcome to this week’s Property Jobs Today - a slim edition given how quiet the industry is at the height of summer.

Let’s start with Spicerhaart - its corporate sales division has just appointed its first in-house mortgage adviser, Lauren Cunningham, to its Just Mortgages division.

The corporate sales team handles repossessions, part-exchanges, relocation schemes and quick sales activities, and Lauren will be based in its Blackpool office. Lauren has more than eight years’ experience within the financial services sector, most recently at Payment Shield.

“In my role at Payment Shield, I worked quite a bit with the Spicerhaart group and have always been hugely impressed by them as a business."

"Just Mortgages has an absolutely brilliant reputation in the sector. They are a fantastic brand, with very driven salespeople, so I knew I wanted to work for them” explains Lauren.

Now we go to the real estate practice at law firm Lodders - it works closely with developers, volume housebuilders and some agents - and it has announced the appointment of a new team head, a new equity partner and two associate promotions.

Commercial and residential property and land development specialist, Mark Miller (pictured left), becomes head of the team, whilst James Mottram (right), a residential development specialist well-known amongst the UK’s major housebuilders, is promoted to equity partner.

Mark joined Lodders as an equity partner in 2016 and acts for landowners, developers, investors and end users including large national and multinational organisations.

James joined the firm in 2015 and specialises in residential development work; he’s acted for many of the top 10 UK house builders.

Meanwhile Cheryl Payne and Laura Taylor of Lodders’ plot sales’ team are promoted to become associates.

Over to Market Harborough where it’s congratulations to three staff from the Andrew Granger & Co lettings team who have gained the ARLA Propertymark qualification.

Andrew Peacock (right), senior lettings administrator and Roisin Foster (centre) and Conor Jackson (left) who are both senior lettings negotiators all completed the 120 hours of study involved in four in-depth modules needed to be accredited as fully qualified members of ARLA.

Five members of the firm’s lettings team now have the ARLA Propertymark qualification.

And finally, we do of course have (another) new housing minister after Dominic Raab was made Brexit Secretary. The new housing minister is Kit Malthouse, MP for north west Hampshire.

He has been an MP for only three years, during part of which has was under-secretary at the Department of Work and Pensions involved the roll-out of Universal Credit. He has also served on the Treasury and Armed Forces committees, and was a Leave supporter in the EU referendum.
