Property Jobs Today - all the latest industry moves

Hello and welcome to this week’s PJT, your chance to catch up on the major moves in the agency industry over recent days.

Please remember to let us know about your firm’s newcomers, leavers or promotion successes - just drop an email to press@estateagenttoday.co.uk.

Let’s start this week in London where the lettings book of My London Home is to be absorbed into and rebranded as Stirling Ackroyd, which itself is part of Nick Dunning Associates.

Now Tim Van der Schyff has been appointed as managing director of group lettings at Nick Dunning Associates - Tim joins from Countrywide where he was head of lettings for eight of its premium brands, overseeing the management and strategic direction of 44 branches in London, Surrey and the Home Counties.

“We’re pleased to have someone of Tim’s calibre on board. His vast experience of managing large scale lettings operations, and his achievements in growing some of the largest brands on the high street, is unrivalled” explains Nick Dunning.

Another ex-Countrywide name is Vince Courtney, and he’s been appointed as sales director and executive board member of Reading-based estate agency Haslams.

Vince will play a key role in the company’s strategy and ambitious growth plans initially focusing on residential sales but taking ultimate responsibility for all sales functions including lettings and new homes.

Vince joins with over 30 years of exceptional sales experience. Prior to Haslams he spent the past 20 years as an integral member of the executive team at Romans that grew their business from four offices into 28 offices. Latterly he was Managing Director of Sales: a comparable role to that he will take at Haslams.

There’s a new face amongst the senior management at online agency Yopa - it’s Pip Heywood who becomes it chief marketing officer responsible for brand positioning and advertising initiatives with a specific emphasis on marketing effectiveness.

Her career history spans classic FMCG brand building and portfolio management through roles at Hovis and Imperial Leather, as well as online retail customer acquisition at Shop Direct where she headed up the Very brand. Most recently of all she was brand director at MoneySuperMarket.

“I’m proud to represent a young brand that puts the customer at the heart of everything it does and is prepared to stand out from the crowd through disrupting and challenging the estate agency category norms and age-old wisdom” she says - clearly not afraid to set the cat amongst the pigeons.

High end agency Knight Frank has been appointing too, this time an internal move for Tim Hyatt - he’s currently head of lettings but he’s going to take over as head of London. He’ll replace veteran agent Noel Flint, who retires next March after 38 years at the firm.

Meanwhile Lucy Jones will take over responsibility for the residential letting business.

“Tim has been an integral part of the London business since he joined in 2003, growing the lettings business to the market-leading force that it is today” explains Andrew Hay, global head of residential at the firm.

“Lucy has made a significant impact on our business having joined us five years ago, setting up investment lettings management and having responsibility for the operational elements of Knight Frank’s lettings which she has helped grow significantly” he adds.

Finally this week, the RO Real Estate team welcomes Tom Gold who joins the operation as development surveyor. Tom joins from GVA, where he was an associate director.

Thanks in advance for letting us know about your moves - perhaps they will be on PJT when it returns next Monday? Until then…
