Hello and welcome to our weekly catch-up on the major moves within our industry.
Remember, you can let the rest of the industry know what’s happening with your company by contacting us with jobs news on press@estateagenttoday.co.uk.
So, let’s start with online agency Yopa. Last week we discussed its new head of marketing while this week it has a new head of London agents - it’s Ben Ainsworth, who joins the operations with 11 years’ experience in local agency offices.
At Dexters, where he began his career in property in 2007, Ben specialised in launching new offices; he moved to Knight Frank in 2016 where, as head of the newly launched Aldgate office which focused on the City of London sales market, his branch took a 24 per cent share of the market within just a year of opening.
Ben says of his new departure: “Yopa stood out to me as an exciting business that’s really shaking up the industry, and I’m delighted to now play a part in its growth story."
"It’s a great opportunity for me to build on the company’s successful strategy by supporting local London agents and encouraging them to push for increased market share.”
Incidentally, Yopa is rumoured to be advertising for new agents and specifically a Head of Sales position with a salary of £90,000 to £100,000.

CBRE has appointed Chiara Zuccon as a senior director in its Development and Residential Investment team.
She is joining from the Royal Bank of Scotland where she was Head of Private Rented Sector - the bank’s Build To Rent investment arm - and was responsible for the deployment of £1 billion of senior lending across the UK. More recently she has led work around the student housing, co-living and retirement sectors.

Now as you may have seen on Estate Agent Today last week, Reapit’s popular former sales manager Peter Fenwick is branching out as an independent PropTech consultant.
Peter’s departure from Reapit was announced back in July but he left the company formally only a few days ago - hence his announcement.
“There are quite a few PropTech consultants but many are on retainers or commissions or have links with suppliers. There’s nothing wrong with that but my selling point is that I’m completely independent of any supplier” Peter says.
And still with PropTech, Hexagon Software - which has been supplying investment property firms with software for some 20 years - has appointed Anita Barrett as operations manager.
According to Mitchell Hill, Hexagon Software’s managing director: “We’re delighted to welcome Anita. Her extensive operational expertise will play a key role in enabling us to manage the increasing number of software installations and help the business through the next growth phase.”

Finally this week Sladen Estates - a developer that is working in the Build To Rent and student accommodation sectors as well as being a long-established name in commercial property - has a new projects director in the shape of Paul Ruane.
A former deputy director of estates and head of property at the University of Derby, his new role is to deliver on onsite developments and assessment of opportunities.
