One of the country’s major property auction companies has a new base.
The 233,000 square foot site in Chesterfield has been acquired by the John Pye Auctions group which says its property business will increase in the coming year.
The Derbyshire site is the second largest in the company portfolio.
“The acquisition … takes our John Pye Auctions facilities to one million square feet across 50 acres nationwide. We are continuing to search for additional nationwide premises and we have earmarked the north west as the potential next site location” says a spokesman.
The site will be open to the pubic with the first sale taking place in March.
John Pye Auctions holds more than 1,000 online auctions a year across the UK, selling residential properties as well as stock and assets from insolvency firms, government departments and private companies.
