An independent estate agency has committed its future to the high street by moving one of its offices to a more strategic location.
Lawson Estate Agents has taken up a new residence in the heart of one of Plymouth's most popular residential areas, Peverell.
With two branches, the agency covers Plymouth, as well as the popular commuter areas of South East Cornwall to the west and Ivybridge to the east.
The firm's managing director, Darren Lawson, says the firm is not prepared to compromise on its core principles of professionalism and high customer service.
"Part of that means having a physical presence. We know how important having somewhere to call home is to our customers and it is the same for us too," says Lawson.
"There is still a place for the traditional estate agency, with local offices and staff with in-depth local knowledge – and I hope that never changes."
He says this despite acknowledging a 'digital world' in which the property industry is not 'immune to the effects of technological changes'.
One of the new office's key attractions are a set of window touch screens which allow consumers to scroll through Lawson's property listings and view individual property details 24/7.
Charities and schools will also be able to post news and events on the screens, as well as trusted local businesses.
