Help catch heartless thieves who stole agent's two charity boxes

The police in Crewe are appealing for information after two charity boxes were stolen from an estate agent in the town.

The Butters John Bee office on Nantwich Road was broken into between 11pm and 11.45pm on Tuesday November 5.

After the front door was smashed open, the building was searched and two charity boxes were stolen – one for The Royal British Legion and one for Magic Moments The Children’s Charity.

The boxes are believed to have contained approximately £80.

Police Constable John Warren says: “To stoop as low as to steal two charity boxes is simply despicable. What is even more appalling is the poppy charity box was stolen just six days before Remembrance Sunday.

“We are committed to doing all we can to identify who was responsible for the burglary and bring them to justice. We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and I want to hear from anyone with any information which may help our investigation.

“If you believe you witnessed anything, or have dashcam footage of anything, that may be relevant to our investigation please contact the team here at Crewe Police Station.”

Anyone with any information that may aid the investigation should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 558058, give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries  or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
