Yorkshire Coast Sight Support: the founder of Ellis Hay Estate Agency in Scarborough, Samantha Hay, supports local students from Scarborough’s Sixth Form College in a bid to raise money for the charity, Yorkshire Coast Sight Support.
Samantha’s daughter, Tabitha Hay, and her college friends Daniel Swain, Abigail Woollens and Milissa Fyfe-Barr have initiated a charity collection over the Christmas period to generate new stock for Yorkshire Coast Sight Support’s charity shop on Falsgrave.
Ellis Hay Estate Agency acts as a donation point for Scarborough’s local charity, Yorkshire Coast Sight Support. Residents are encouraged to donate any unwanted clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac. These goods will all be donated to the charity in the New Year to boost their stock and help raise funds.
Yorkshire Coast Sight Support works closely with the visually impaired to improve their welfare, quality of life and independence. The charity also provides a high level of support to people dealing with the effects of sight loss or sight impairment – the support workers put a great deal of time and money into teaching materials and specialist equipment.
If you would like to donate unwanted clothes, shoes, books or bric-a-brac please drop your items off at Ellis Hay, 14 Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO11 1XP.

Variety, the Children’s Charity: Following a 14-year partnership, Crest Nicholson has now raised an amazing £2m-plus for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
Variety works to support children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged, and Crest Nicholson is currently the charity’s largest supporter.
The money raised has helped Variety complete their amazing work, giving those with disabilities real independence, those from disadvantaged backgrounds special days they might not have been able to enjoy, and families the support that they need to help their children enjoy access to the same opportunities as their peers.
Crest Nicholson has also funded 42 Sunshine Coaches to Variety, ensuring that schools and organisations are able to plan inclusive activities, with wheelchair access built in.
