More details are emerging of the first-ever ESTAS conference for conveyancers - the Bold Legal Conference - taking place on the same day as the annual awards on October 18.
LEAP, a practice management software provider, is the headline sponsor for the conference, which is called Bold Legal LIVE!.
The one-day conference is open to all property lawyers, law firms and key decision makers in the conveyancing sector - all disciplines which are at the centre of this year’s expected reforms of the house buying process.
Rob Hailstone, chief executive at Bold Legal Group, says:“The LEAP system is proving to be more popular by the day and their Best Practice Standard is impressing not just law firms but lenders, regulators and PI insurance companies alike.”
Hailstone is arguably one of the best known figures in the residential conveyancing sector with over 40 years’ experience in the industry and sits on a range of advisory panels, including those current bodies created by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to develop plans to reform the house buying process.
Hailstone adds “The conveyancing process will evolve and change throughout 2019. Busy property lawyers need to know what is going on and have a say because any changes will affect their livelihoods.
“The conference will give them the opportunity to listen to and quiz those that will be implementing and making those changes. We want to make sure the content on the day is as topical as possible so we’ll be developing the agenda over the coming months in order to make sure that all subject matters are the most up to date and relevant in October, here are some of the topics we’ll focus on.”
Key issues to be discussed at the conference include:
- has the new Code for Completion by Post clarified and improved matters?
- what has the government’s reservation agreement trial revealed?
- can property logbooks actually assist the home buying and selling process?
- the development of a new regulatory framework for property agents;
- progress of HM Land Registry’s research and development project, Digital Street.
John Espley, CEO at LEAP, says: “We share an ethos of promoting excellence in conveyancing and for many years we have developed highly innovative practice management software. With the positive impact our LEAP Best Practice Standard is having on the profession, we continue to provide real support to property lawyers, helping them to deliver a highly effective, professional and affordable service for their clients.”
Bold Legal LIVE! and The ESTAS Conveyancer Awards will take place on Friday October 18 at the Grosvenor House, London. Tickets are available from £80 per person. More details and reservations from karen@theestas.com.
